The Very Best of 2016
2016 was my best year yet and I couldnβt think of a better way to introduce my new website and branding then by doing a blog post with some of my absolute favourite photos from the year.
My 2016 season took me to new places and I got to meet so many new and wonderful people. Creating amazing relationships with my thirteen incredible couples, their families and friends, and vendors was something I will never forget. I also got to shoot my first destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and then was asked to shoot a friend from collegeβs wedding in Princeville, Hawaii. Can we just say DREAM COME TRUE! Seeing as I hadnβt traveled in years, I was feeling pretty lucky that I got to visit one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I also shot at a lot of new venues in Ontario Iβve never been too like Langdon Hall in Cambridge (probably my favourite venue right now), Reif Estate Winery, and the Berkeley Field House, just to name a few.
I was blessed with amazing couples that all had amazing and different weddings where I fell in love with my job more and more after every wedding I shot. When I leave a wedding at the end of the day, my heart feels soo full and it makes me strive to do the best job I can do for my couples.
These photos are only a FRACTION of my favourites from the past year. There were waaaaay too many to blog but you will see some more full weddings soon! I cannot wait to see what my 2017 season has in store for me and I canβt wait to share it with all of you!
Some photos shot while working for Alyssa Alkema, Tia Kristina, Paula Visco, Livi Shaw, Robin Sharp, and Christine Picheca.
Andrea & Josh's Royal Canadian Yacht Club Wedding
Andrea and Josh got married on a beautiful day in July at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto. The weather was absolutely perfect for their big day; partly sunny, partly cloudy, with a nice summer breeze coming off of Lake Ontario. They had all of their closest friends and family come by boat to the island to enjoy their intimate wedding ceremony under the willow trees where they recited personal vows. Andrea walked down the aisle to beautiful live music played by a four string quartet. After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed games, personalized cocktails, and delicious hor d'oeuvres with the stunning Toronto skyline serving as a backdrop. Andrea and Josh envisioned their day as an intimate and vintage affair and they achieved it perfectly with antique gold pieces and details, a dessert table with sweets made by their family and friends, and antique cameras, vases, and wooden crates that held homemade jams for their guests to take home to remember their day. The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was the perfect choice for their Toronto wedding as when you step off the boat onto the island it is almost like you have landed in a different era, or thatβs how I felt at least! The Club has a certain southern charm to it and a slower pace than the regular Toronto hustle and bustle, which is why I loved it so much (Seriously recommend this place!). The couple chose sweet, white dresses for the bridesmaids and casual, neat, tan suits for the groomsmen. Andrea and Josh were such a great couple to work with. They were so happy to be married and so in love and I believe it shows in their wedding photos.
Thank you so much to my friend Heather of With Love Heather for having me shoot this amazing wedding with her.
