The Very Best of 2016
2016 was my best year yet and I couldn’t think of a better way to introduce my new website and branding then by doing a blog post with some of my absolute favourite photos from the year.
My 2016 season took me to new places and I got to meet so many new and wonderful people. Creating amazing relationships with my thirteen incredible couples, their families and friends, and vendors was something I will never forget. I also got to shoot my first destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and then was asked to shoot a friend from college’s wedding in Princeville, Hawaii. Can we just say DREAM COME TRUE! Seeing as I hadn’t traveled in years, I was feeling pretty lucky that I got to visit one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I also shot at a lot of new venues in Ontario I’ve never been too like Langdon Hall in Cambridge (probably my favourite venue right now), Reif Estate Winery, and the Berkeley Field House, just to name a few.
I was blessed with amazing couples that all had amazing and different weddings where I fell in love with my job more and more after every wedding I shot. When I leave a wedding at the end of the day, my heart feels soo full and it makes me strive to do the best job I can do for my couples.
These photos are only a FRACTION of my favourites from the past year. There were waaaaay too many to blog but you will see some more full weddings soon! I cannot wait to see what my 2017 season has in store for me and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
Some photos shot while working for Alyssa Alkema, Tia Kristina, Paula Visco, Livi Shaw, Robin Sharp, and Christine Picheca.
Justine & Adam's Private Estate Wedding
Justine and Adam’s farm wedding is one of my favourite weddings to date. It was so unconventional and unique which is why I loved it sooo much. They chose to have their wedding at Adam’s family farm in Southern Ontario under the old maple trees. For their wedding ceremony they only had 5 guests, their parents, and the officiant. It was one the sweetest things I’ve ever witnessed and it is exactly what they wanted. After their intimate ceremony we snuck off to take their bridal photos in the barn, a cornfield, and a forest across the street before their guests arrived. When we came back from taking photos Justine and Adam were greeted by their guests and were able to enjoy the rest of their day stress free because the ceremony was already over. THEY WERE MARRIED! Justine and Adam wanted their wedding day to be relaxed, fun, and more like a big party so they had a make your own Caesar bar (yum), a food truck serving up the most delicious poutine, lot’s of lawn games, and for dinner, delicious BBQ from a restaurant in Paris called Camp 31. Side note; their food is amazing, check it out! Once dinner was done, Justine and Adam had their first dance under twinkle lights and the stars and their guests joined in and the party began! To end the night the wedding guests were handed sparklers and got to enjoy a fireworks show put on by the couple’s family and lots and lots of pizza that replaced your typical late night buffet. I am definitely stealing that idea for when I get married, or it might even be the main meal haha. Thank you Justine and Adam for throwing one of the best parties I’ve ever been to! It was a blast!
Thank you to Alyssa Alkema for asking me to photograph this incredible wedding with her.
